Submissions

We encourage submissions from all, and envisage, for instance, that while current events will generate obvious ironies, we would like to include such fields as literature, history, philosophy, religion, politics and the sciences.  We suggest topics that are readable, thought-provoking and are probably in the range of 1,000 to 2,000 words.  We want to provide a rich and rewarding read.  The Ironist is written for those that love words.  We cannot provide funds at this time as we are new – but at the same time, our newness makes us more open to suggestions and corrections!  Please drop us a line – and provide a reference or referral.  We are young enough to learn new tricks!

We accept reviews of books — fiction, non-fiction, even films, and art works. We do lean towards ironic titles and humorous independent-minded writings but all is welcome.

If you are a reviewer and want to write a review for us, please mail us at editor@theironist.org with the book, publisher, publication date, and 2-3 lines of pitch. We prioritise timely reviews of new and forthcoming books but classics and older books are also welcome. The length of a review can range from 500 to maximum 1500 words.

Please note: Opinions in a review piece belong to the reviewer and have no bearing on the periodical’s own views since we welcome differing perspectives. We only accept pieces written by humans. No AI-generated or AI-assisted writings will be accepted.
